Hong Kong International Airport
Aerial sculpture, over 200 metres in length, based on symbolic wings , streamers and sails - with their natural associations with the airport and Hong Kong's Harbour. Of light weight construction in stainless steel and painted steel tubing, yacht rigging and French shade cloths. Because of its size, the work is in three sections, each a mixture of Western and Asian icons. It is a series of colourful flowing images, with the centrepiece a group of  floating shapes inspired by the flying figures painted in the world famous Duong Hung caves on the Silk Road more than 1000 years ago.
